Mark lots of results at once, and let correct quizzes count automatically

VET results are not grades or scores. Each unit is recorded as "Competent" or "Not yet competent".

Where: Students & contacts → Assessments

Mark a group of students at once

  1. In the sidebar, open "Students & contacts" and click "Assessments".
  2. Tick the students you want to mark. A bar appears at the bottom of the screen.
  3. Click "Mark selected".
  4. Under "Outcome for all selected", pick "Competent" or "Not yet competent".
  5. Under "How were they assessed?", pick the method (for example Observation, Practical or Written).
  6. Set "Date assessed (leave blank for today)" if it happened on an earlier day.
  7. Read the declaration, type your name in "Type your full name to sign", and click "Sign and mark … competent" (or "not yet competent").

Online marking works one unit at a time. If you tick students on different units, group the list by unit and tick one group. Paper results can cover more than one unit.

Let fully correct quizzes count automatically

  1. In the sidebar, open "Courses" and click "Unit library".
  2. Open the unit's assessments and find the quiz.
  3. On the card "A fully correct attempt counts straight away", click "Switch on".
  4. Type your full name and click "Sign and switch on".

This option only appears on marked quizzes where every question is marked by the system. Only an owner or admin can change it. A student who gets every answer right is recorded Satisfactory without waiting for a trainer. Wrong or unanswered questions still go to a trainer.

What happens next A person still has to mark the unit competent. Auto-confirm only covers that one quiz, not the whole unit. If the quiz is republished, auto-confirm pauses until someone clicks "Check and sign again".

If something looks wrong If "Mark selected" won't open, check the students are all on the same unit. If the dialog shows a block about credentials, the person signing isn't authorised to assess that unit. Fix their trainer record first.
